Presently, there are many other environmental problems in the world, for example, global warming, desertification, ozone depletion, etc. Air pollution remains as one of the biggest environmental problems throughout the world. It can be the cause of diseases like cancer or environmental problems like global warming. Actually, human products from factories, vehicles and buildings produce exhaust fumes and also produce microscopic particles which are known causes of diseases like cancer, heart disease, pneumonia and premature death (Danelski, 2006). We have to consider the air pollutants, and we need to improve the emission control systems of factories that emit the gas that produces air pollution to solve the problem. According to Gwen Williams, an exponent of Muskegon Family Care, patients who develop respiratory disease are really high around these factories, not only the people who live near the factories but also the people who live far from the factories (Prichard, 2005). This is proof that the gas of air pollutants is easily spread. Nowadays, our air has become polluted as we developed our technologies to make our lives more convenient. Surely, living standards of our lives have improved and are much better than during the past. However, the environment has been certainly destroyed with these improvements. Therefore we need to improve the air pollution problem and we have to consider air pollution as an extremely serious problem.

First, I need to introduce the present condition of the environment caused by air pollution. According to the website, Zero Air Pollution, the people who live in Los Angeles don’t care about neighboring activities, until they notice that they are in trouble or in a terrible situation. There have been considerable damages to our health and to the environment of the Earth before really understand the facts. Presenter, we should understand the condition of the air more to improve the air pollution problem in the future. We can easily see the chimnies of factories is emitting clouds of smoke that look bad for our health. In Los Angeles, patients who have respiratory diseases, such as lung cancer and asthma, are increasing. Also, the toxic gas can be related to diseases which do not seem to be connected to emissions, like heart disease. The small particles can go through deeply into lung tissue, and these particles are able to enter the bloodstream. Then the poisonous atoms permeate our whole body through the bloodstream. Today, the emission from human productions is more common in our lives, however, it is a very dangerous and harmful thing to us. Some research show that breathing emissions from vehicles and factories makes our life expectancy shorter. The risk of cancer is much higher if you usually act or live near the resources of harmful gas, such as high ways, that are roads which are often jammed with traffic. The people who live near these areas have similar damages to their body as a smoker world, even if they don’t smoke a bit (Coaltion for Clean Air Headquarters, 2006). Actually, there are really serious health damages due to air pollution throughout the world. 310,000 people die per year in Europe, and also there are between 50,000 and 100,000 who die annually in the U.S because of air pollution. This number of the dead is more than the people who die by car accidents (Wikipedia, 2006). Also, many forests around the country or city which have developed industries die due to acid rain. Thus, air pollution produces a lot of negative results, there are no advantages for humans or the environment of the Earth. We have to know the facts about air pollution and understand that it is really serious problem. It is harmful and dangerous even though it is a natural process that human products emit toxic gas.

Second, I will discuss the causes of air pollution. We often think all of human productions can be causes of air pollution. Of course, vehicles are one of the biggest causes of air pollution. If I ask someone, “What is the cause of air pollution?” almost any person might answer “vehicles.” Nowadays, transportation systems, such as cars, trucks, trains, ships and airplanes, are more common in the world. These systems have been developed rapidly, and they make our life more convenient. We use them wherever we go, so we can’t live or survive in this mobile society without these systems. On the other hand, the transportation systems have a bad influence on our body and the environment. All of them emit abundant toxic gas. However, there are also other causes of air pollution. First, factories are one of them. When we make items like vehicles in a factory, we have to emit harmful gas. The emission from factories is easy to spread out to neighbors and the toxic gas floats in the atmosphere for a long time. The gas contains minute particles, so it is very light and ethereal (Zero Air Pollution Los Angeles, 2003). Therefore, our body and the environment is affected by the harmful gas for a considerable time without knowing. Second, power plants are also air pollutant sources. Power plants are one of the most important things to us. We have to make energy to live and work, so these plants exist wherever we live. These plants burn massive natural resources, such as oil, coal and wood, and they also emit gas like carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide as secondary products of combustion (Wikipedia, 2006). The buildings where we work and live are also one cause of air pollution. Surprisingly, we emit a large percentage of gas when we use electrical appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, etc. Therefore, buildings can be the biggest source of air pollution in urban cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Tokyo and Seoul which have a great number of high buildings. These air toxics and compounds can be the cause of global warming. Thus, we pollute air wherever and whenever we work and live, and we have a lot of causes of air pollution and disease around us. We need to be conscious that we always the contaminate atmosphere, and our body and environment is always damaged by our own behavior.

Third, I will write about provisions for air pollution. I think preventive measures are very important to solving the air pollution problem more than cleaning the air or environment, because cleaning up the environment requires a lot of money. For example, the cost was 2.8 million dollars to clean the air at the port of Los Angeles. If we have to spend a lot of money to clean up just one confined area, we should improve the technology and we should consider how we don’t emit toxic gas using the money. First, the environment management system (EMS) was established at the port of Los Angeles in December 2003 (The Port Of Los Angeles, 2006) to solve the air pollution problem in this area. An EMS is the machine which tries to decrease negative effects on the environment. This is still an experimental device but if this system works, the pollution of the port will be surely able to be improved. Second, The Port of Los Angeles has been exploiting the “Air Quality Monitoring Program” since early 2004. It focuses on the matter of emission levels from around the port. This program indicates to the exact sources like ships or factories, operate on how to without polluting the air and what they should do. Third, I think the following Japanese technology can be applied to solve air pollution in California, so I would like to introduce the technology. We have a serious air pollution problem in Tokyo, also. Scientists have developed new technologies to reduce the harmful emissions and greenhouse gases. Then, they exploited fuel cell-powered cars and busses. It was successful. The Tokyo metropolitan government built a station for supplying hydrogen in 2002, and the fuel cell-powered bus has been used from 2003 to 2004 in Tokyo. The bus was driven and carried many people in Tokyo for two years (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005). The car uses just hydrogen power, so the emission is just water and the energy efficiency is much better than the car which uses the petrol engine or the diesel engine. Therefore, the car is really good for the environment. If these cars are produced, CO2 levels would decrease by close to 30% in Tokyo. Also, the bus was used in the 2005 world exposition in Aichi, Japan, and it was used by a lot of people who came from all over the world (IBM Japan, 2005). If we can use this technology for factories or power plants, we will be able to reduce toxic gas considerably.

In conclusion, the environment has been certainly destroyed with these improvements. Therefore, we need to consider this serious air pollution problem and procedures in place. We need to improve the air pollution and we have to consider air pollution problem as the serious problem extremely, and we need to be conscious that we always pollute the atmosphere and our body and environment is always damaged by our own behavior. We know the cause of air pollution, so I hope we can find the best way to improve this problem as soon as possible. I hope we can get the beautiful Earth back again.

Bibliography:

Coalition for Clean Air Headquarters. (2006). Clean Air. However, there are still many factories and these factories have a bad influence on our health. The people who live near huge factories hane a high risk of disease of the respiratory organs because of the emission from the factories. Therefore, we need to do preventive measure for the air pollution problem.

I think if we can apply the technology to solve the air pollution problems of the automobile to the problem of factories, the air pollution problem will be improved. In Japan, the exploitation of the fuel cell-powered car has been developed. This car uses just hydro power, so the emission is just water, not toxic gas. Also, the energy efficiency is much better than the car which uses gasoline or diesel fuels. Therefore, the car is really good for our health and the environment. Actually, the bus has been used by a lot of people from 2003 to 2004 in Tokyo and in the 2005 world exposition in Aichi, Japan. Therefore, if we can use this technology for factories, air pollution problem will be much better even though there are some problems, such as cost, technology, research, etc.

In conclusion, we have been destroyed the environment of the Earth. Air pollution is one of the most serious problems. Therefore, we need to consider about this serious problem and do preventive measure. We know the cause of air pollution, so I hope we can find the best way to improve this problem as soon as possible, and we can get the beautiful Earth back again.

Reference:
Prichard, J. Factories, power plants and vehicles which produce exhaust fumes also produce microscopic particles which are cause of diseases like cancer, heart disease, pneumonia and premature death. As the result of air pollution, the government began to do priventive measure for air pollution problem. However, the cost is very high, so we can’t clean up every part. We need to improve our technology, and also we need to handle port activity.

We need to solve the air pollution problem as soon as possible. Nowadays, environmental problems are serious problems in the world. Air pollution is one of the biggest environmental problems. Tokyo is another city which needs some preventive measure for the environmental problem. Air pollution in Tokyo affects not only human health of those people who live in Tokyo, but also the ecosystem and other people who don’t live in Tokyo. There are some dead trees because of microscopic particles from factories and the rate which asthma is increasing rapidly for a few years. The area whose air has the particles thickly have been spreading around Tokyo.

In conclusion, the air pollution problem today is really serious throughout the world. If we don’t do anything to improve air pollution, we won’t be able to live on the Earth. We know what the cause of air pollution is. We have developed technology fairly, I hope we will find the solution of this problem in the near future, and we can get the beautiful and comfortable Earth back again.
Reference:
Danelski, D. Nowadays, the air pollution is a serious problem in Los Angeles. The gas from vehicles or factories is connected to cancer. Especially, the risk to those people who breathe gas in the air when they were children will become cancer at adulthood with higher level. Therefore, there are some measures, such as adjusting poisonous air, making energy efficiency car, etc. We need to solve this problem as soon as possible for my health.

I agree with this author. Today, there are many environmental problems in the world, for example, global warming, desertification, ozone depletion, etc. Of the various environmental problems, I think air pollution is one of the most serious problems. It can be the causes of many diseases or environmental problems like cancer, global warming, etc. Therefore, we have to solve the air pollution problem. I know some solutions for the air pollution problem, so I would like to introduce them.

In Japan, the exploitation of the fuel cell-powered car has been developed. This car uses just hydro power, so the emission is just water, not toxic gas. Also, the energy efficiency is much better than the car which uses the gasoline engine. I think if this car is published, the patients of cancer will decrease considerably.

In conclusion, we have developed our technology to make our life convenient. Certainly, our life became convenient, but we also destroy the environment and environmental problems trouble us. We should continue to develop our technology, but we have to take care of the environment of the Earth, also. I hope we can solve the environmental problems as soon as possible and can get the beautiful and comfortable Earth again.

Ocean’s Problem

We have caught living things from the ocean for a long time, and we have enjoyed eating them, such as fish, shellfish and seaweed all over the world. According to Walter H. Corson (1999, p. 136), “The world fish catch is approaching the annual total -- 100 million metric tons.” Japan is one of the countries which depend on marine products. There are many kind of delicious foods which use marine products, for example, sushi, sashimi and negitoro. However, these days, the sea products are confronting dangers as the new technology has been developed.

I like the foods which use marine products, and I often eat the delicious foods, so I can’t believe that we won’t be able to eat them. However, some researchers said the marine products which we can eat will decrease in the future. There are some causes of this problem, and we have to solve them to eat fresh marine products for a long time.

First, we need to reconsider our new technology. If we don’t do that, we won’t be able to eat some marine products. According to Peter Weber (2002, p. 47), “ Pollution poisons or causes disease in coastal marine life. Fat-soluble toxicants bioaccumulate in predators.” Recently, we have developed the technology for all fields, industry, agriculture, etc. then, we have polluted the environment of the Earth. Ocean is one of them. Therefore, we need to think about our new technology.

Second, we have to protect the water of the seaside. We are catching 50% of the sea products within 200 miles from land (Weber, 2002), so if we don’t do anything for this area, the products which live there will die. This means we won’t be able to get 50% of the marine products. Also, today, we have a problem-increasing population rapidly (Weber, 2002), so we can expect a lack of foods in the future.

Finally, we have been catching marine products excessively. Actually, whales are decreasing rapidly (Corson, 1999). I think if we continue to catch too much fish and whales, the ecosystem will change and some marine products will die out. Therefore, we have to plan how much of these products are caught.

In conclusion, nowadays, we depend on the marine products in field of food. However, it has been decreased by human behavior. There are some causes of this problem, so we have to solve those causes to eat marine products. I hope we will solve those problems, and we can eat delicious food from the ocean for the ocean forever.

Reference:

Corson, W. H. (1999). Therefore, we need to stop global warming to solve the changing weather patterns in Arctic. Today there are many environmental problems on the earth, for example, global warming, deforestation, desertification, ozone depletion, and acid rain, which are being noticed in the world. Among those problems, I think global warming is the most serious problem because global warming can be the cause of many environmental problems. According to Michael Harris (2005) and Tim Appenzeller (2000), today, weather patterns have been changing in the Arctic. Arctic ice has been melting suddenly and the temperature is increasing there. This fact is the cause of speeding up global warming, dying out of some animals, changing ecosystem, and changing weather pattern of the world. The environment or weather of the Arctic is one of the most important keys to solving environmental problems. Also, in Japan, we had much snow unnaturally this winter. And there were a lot of accidents, some people died, some houses were broken, and also traffic jams were a serious problem because of snow. I heard this problem affected commerce excessively. Generally speaking, the cause of the extraordinary amount of snow is global warming. Thus, the biggest cause of the changing weather pattern is global warming. Therefore, we have to solve the global warming problem to solve the changing weather pattern problem.

The relationship between the changing weather pattern in Arctic and global warming is strong. We need to do some things to solve this serious problem. Today, there are various measures to stop global warming in the world and these things are executed by each country, especially MDCs (More Developed Countries), so we should combine the ideas of provisions for global warming of each country, and I wonder if we can find the best way to restrain global warming. Therefore, I would like to introduce the provisions for global warming in Japan, especially in Tokyo, which is one of the cities that are the biggest causes of global warming. I think Japan is one of the countries which has been taking good measures for global warming.

First, we need to consider CO2, which is the biggest cause of global warming, which is the direct cause of changing weather pattern of Arctic. Japan is the fourth leading emitter of CO2 in the world, and Tokyo is the leading prefecture which exhausts CO2 in Japan. Therefore, the Tokyo metropolitan government has been taking some measures for CO2 in Tokyo.

The first is that government obliged office buildings and other large sources of CO2 to reduce emission of greenhouse gas. In Tokyo, 40% of emissions are from commercial sources, and it has been increased by 19% for ten years (1990 ~ 2000), so this is the most serious problem in Tokyo. The government emphasized that the tax for environmental funds depends on how much exhaust each company emits. After this, the companies cooperated with the government and wrestled with this problem more, because they needed to demonstrate the amount of emissions for the government (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a).

The second is that the government is doing some things to reduce CO2 from transportation (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a). This is about 35% of emissions in Tokyo. Today, our transportation systems have been developed and become convenient as the technology has been improved, and we use them more and more, so the rate of CO2 has increased has become by about 20% from vehicles from 1990 to 2000, even though the gas mileage of vehicles has become much better. Therefore, the government has strengthened the “Automobile Environmental Management System”, and they teach “eco-driving” to companies which emit too much CO2 or something like that, and they are trying to reduce vehicle kilometers traveled (VKT) and idling. Also, they strengthen “transportation demand management (TDM)”, and they are promoting the use of public transportation systems like trains and buses for consumers. Those provisions will combine to decrease the consumption of energy.

Second, using energy is the one of the causes of global warming, so I will introduce how we reduce energy in Tokyo. In Tokyo, there are many huge buildings which were built in the 1970s when the economy was improved rapidly. The buildings are one of the big causes of waste of energy and emission of CO2, because this period was before the technology had been developed enough, and those buildings became old, so the buildings will need to be replaced. Therefore, today, this period is a unique opportunity, so the government is executing the “Green Building Program.” They obliged new buildings to put in high technology provisions for CO2 like the solar system, even if it is expensive, and they aim to make Tokyo a large-scale energy-saving city (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a).

The second is that they promote changing the energy sources to renewable. Tokyo depends on other cities for 95% of its electric power, so it is necessary to make it an environment-friendly city (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a). In 2003 the government was influenced by Europe and placed two large wind turbines in Tokyo bay. This became the symbol of resolution for solving environmental problems and saving energy in Tokyo. Actually, this symbol really influenced our mind, so this was a very meaningful event for us even though these wind turbines can’t make much energy. Europe’s wind technology is much better than Japanese, so I think if we can cooperate with them and can develop the wind energy system, the symbol will become more effective. Also, the government constructed a “hydro station” for fuel-cell cars near the wind turbines.

In addition, the government thought that it is an important thing to provide the information about energy efficiency to us, consumers, in order to save energy, so they made the organization for the relationship between producers and consumers (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a,b). Nowadays, exhaust of CO2 and amount of use of electric power is increasing from residential sources because of the increase in the number of households, swelling up of electrical machines, and increasing a lot of functions of machines, such as air conditioner, refrigerator, TV, etc. Therefore, the government implemented effective systems and campaigns with dealers in order to guide consumers to choose an energy saving machine. They made a label as an emblem of their effort for energy efficiency in Tokyo. Thanks to this label we can understand what the machine’s advantage is and choose easily, and improve our consciousness for energy efficiency. Thus, the government began to consider and act for energy conservation.

Third, the Tokyo metropolitan government built the station for supplying hydro in 2002, and the fuel cell-powered bus has been used from 2003 to 2004 in Tokyo, and the bus was driven and carried many people in Tokyo for two years (Tokyo Metropolitan Government, 2005a). Scientists have developed new technology to reduce greenhouse gas. They exploited a fuel cell-powered car. It was success. This car uses just hydro power, so there are many advantages. The emission is just water, it doesn’t make noise, and the energy efficiency is much better than the car which uses the petrol engine or the diesel engine. Therefore, the car is really good for the environment. If the cars are produced, CO2 level will be decreased by close to 30% in Tokyo. Also, the bus was used in the 2005 world exposition in Aichi, Japan, and it was used by a lot of people who came from all over the world (IBM Japan, 2005). In addition, Honda, which is one of the most famous automobile companies from Japan, has developed fuel cell-power car to produce in the world. Actually, the car was introduced on November, 2004 in New York (JHFC, 2006). The fuel cell-power car has many advantages; however, it has disadvantages, also. The cost has been a problem. We need much money to transfer from the petrol engine or the diesel engine car to the fuel cell-power car; also we need to construct hydrogen stations all over the place like gas stations. If it will be improved, we can dissolve the CO2 problem considerably.

In conclusion, the relationship between the changing weather pattern and global warming is strong. We need to solve these problems to live in the future. There are many measures like the example of Tokyo or new Japanese technology which I gave. We have excellent technology and idea to solve and stop global warming. We need to cooperate and improve the environment of the earth. I hope we will find the best way to solve those problems as soon as possible and we will get a beautiful Earth again.

Bibliography:

Appenzeller, T. Today there are many environmental problems on the earth, for example, global warming, deforestation, desertification, and acid rain, which are changing the weather pattern in the Arctic. Nowadays, environmental problems are noticed in the world. Among those problems, I think global warming is the most serious problem. In Japan, we had much snow unnaturally this winter. And there were a lot of accidents, some people died, some houses were broken, and also traffic jams were a serious problem because of snow. I heard this problem affected commerce excessively. Generally speaking, the cause of the extraordinary amount of snow is global warming. Also, global warming is the cause of many environmental problems. Thus, the environment or weather of Arctic is the key to solving environmental problems. The biggest cause of the changing weather pattern is global warming. Therefore, we have to solve the global warming problem to solve the changing weather pattern problem.

The relationship between the changing weather pattern and global warming is strong. We have to do some things to solve this serious problem. Therefore, I would like to introduce the provisions for global warming in Japan, especially in Tokyo.

First, we need to consider about CO2. CO2 is the cause of global warming which is the direct cause of changing weather pattern of Arctic, so in Tokyo we do some measure for CO2. The first is that government obliged office buildings and other large source of CO2 to reduce emission of greenhouse gas. The second, the government is doing some things to reduce CO2 from transportation. The rate of CO2 has been increasing about 20% from vehicles from 1990 to 2000 in Tokyo, so government has strengthened the ÅgAutomobile Environmental Management SystemÅh and is trying to reduce vehicle kilometers traveled.

Second, using energy is the one of the causes of global warming, so I will introduce how we reduce the energy in Tokyo. In Tokyo, there are many huge buildings which were built in the 1970s when the economy was improved rapidly. The buildings are one of the big causes of waste of energy and emission of CO2, and became old, so the buildings will need to be replaced. Therefore, the government obliged new buildings to put in high technology provisions for CO2. Second, they promote changing the energy sources to renewable. Also, the government thought that it is an important thing to provide the information about energy efficiency to us, consumers, to save energy, so they made the organization for the relationship between producers and consumers. The government does other energy measures also.

Third, scientists have developed new technology to reduce greenhouse gas. They exploited a fuel cell-powered car. This car uses just hydro power, so the emission is water. The station for supplying hydro was built in 2002, and the fuel cell-powered bus has been used from 2003 to 2005 in Tokyo. It was a success. The car is really good for the environment. If the cars are produced, CO2 level will be decreased by about 30%. Although, the cost has been a problem, if it improves, the earth will be saved. Also, there are some inventions. I will introduce these things in the research paper.

In conclusion, the relationship between the changing weather pattern and global warming is strong. We need to solve these problems to live in the future. There are many measures like the example of Tokyo which I gave, so I hope we will find the best way to solve those problems as soon as possible and we will get a beautiful Earth again.

Reference:

Appenzeller, T. I'm still thinking that global warming is the most important part to solve changing weather pattern, so I would like to write about global warming. However, I will try to write arguments more specific.

Reference:

Appenzeller, T. (2000, August 28). Plying a fabled waterway. The passage which is the shortcut from Europe to Asia disappeared because the Arctic ice has been melting for the last 150 years. We can think that one of the causes is global warming. And the ice will melt totally during summer within decades. If icebreaking problem continues, there will be many problems in the future; for example, speeding up global warming, changing weather pattern, dying out of some animals, etc. We need to solve these problems as soon as possible.

Nowadays, the environment of the Earth, such as changing weather pattern, melting the Arctic ice, climate changing, etc. is being noticed in the world. And actually some animals have died out because of these problems. Those have happened because of human behavior. I think global warming is one of the most serious problems because it might be the causes of many climate problems. We have to change and fix the environment to live on the earth.

First, we should do something to control global warming, which is the cause of melting the arctic ice and many other problems. Some research said that many cities or lands will be under water in the future because of the melting Arctic. Today, the temperature has been increasing and weather pattern has been changing because of rising CO2 rates. CO2 is the cause of the greenhouse effect. When we use cars and make some things in the factory we have to make exhaust, CO2. Today we can't live without car and industry.

Second, we shouldn't do deforestation. We need trees to make paper or houses or some things, so trees are very important thing for us today. But trees assimilate CO2 and create O2 (oxygen), so the CO2 level is increasing because forests are decreasing. If we can stop cutting forests, we can stop global warming in the future.

Third, we should use the developed technology to improve the environment of the earth. We have developed many things, technology, industry, living standard, etc. Currently there are some products for the environment, for example, hybrid car, solar battery, recycling system, etc. but I think it is not enough. If everybody thinks about environment problem, we will develop much better products.

In conclusion, we have to solve the environment problem, such as global warming, which is the cause of changing weather pattern and climate, etc. I think if we can't do that, not only animals but also we will die out. There are a lot of things which we can do for the environment of the earth. Each person should consider these problems and think what you can do for the earth. I hope we solve these problems and take back the very beautiful and comfortable environment in the near future.

Reference:
Appenzeller, T. (2000, August 28). Summer temperatures have increased in Alaska, and the Arctic ice shelf is melting. As a result, polar bears drown. And the rate will be more increased in the future.

Nowadays, the environment of the Earth is noticed in the world. There are many problem in our world, for example, global warming, desertification, ozone depletion, acid rain, and garbage, etc. I think if the climate change; as it is now, we will die like the polar bears. I think global warming, desertification and ozone depletion are the most serious problems which we have to solve, so I would like to talk about the environment problem of the Earth using the three examples next.

First, we should do something to contorol global warming. I think this is the most serious problem. Nowadays the temperature is increasing because CO2 rates are rising and forests are cut down. When we use cars and make some things in the factory we have to make exhaust, CO2. Today we can’t live without car and industry. Also, we need trees to make paper or house or some things, but trees assimilate CO2 and create O2 (oxygen), so the CO2 level is increasing because forests which assimilate CO2 essentially are decreasing. And the global warming might be the cause of the other environment problems.

Second, we should consider desertification. This is one of the results of global warming. The increasing of temperature and cutting down of forests promote desertification. Conversely, desertification promotes global warming. Thus there is a synergism between these problems.

Third is ozone depletion. Ultraviolet rays can come in the Earth directly through the ozone hole. And Ultraviolet rays are the cause of skin cancer. Actually, it is very serious problem in Australia. Australians can’t go out of the house without clothes when Ultraviolet rays are strong. I think this kind of disease will increase if we can’t solve the environment problem.

In conclusion, one problem makes many troubles. I think the industry which helps us will be the cause of death. Therefore we should think what matter is the most serious problem again. And we should use the developed new technology for climate problems. Recently the climate of the earth has been changing. A good example is the Arctic ice. The sea ice of the regions is decreasing and becomes water gradually and even the arctic permafrost is melting because of global warming. And there is very little fresh water in the world. The rate of fresh water which we can drink is just 1%, so whether we should sell water or not is a serious problem, also.

Nowadays, the environment of the Earth is being noticed in the world. Especially global warming is one of the most serious problems. It might be the cause of many climate problems. And water is a very important thing for us, but fresh water of the earth has limits to its use. However, it is polluted by our behavior. I think we have to change and fix the environment to live on the earth before we consider about whether we should sell water or not. Therefore, I talk about what we should do for the environment and water next.

First, we should do something to control global warming, which is the cause of melting the Arctic ice and many problems. Generally speaking many cities or lands will be under water in the future because of the melting Arctic. Nowadays the temperature is increasing because CO2 rates are rising and forests are cut down. When we use cars and make some things in the factory we have to make exhaust, CO2. Today we can't live without cars and industry. Also, we need trees to make paper or houses or some other things, but trees assimilate CO2 and create O2 (oxygen), so the CO2 level is increasing because forests which assimilate CO2 essentially are decreasing.

Second, we should consider that how we should't pollute water. We had had enough fresh water to live before industry was developed, even though the rate of refreshing water was very low. These days, however, we have polluted water when we use water with detergent or something in the house, or make industrial products in the factory. The house and factory drain harmful things into the river or lake which has fresh water.

Third, we should use the developed technology to improve the environment of the earth. We have developed many things, technology, industry, living standard, etc. Currently there are some products for the environment, for example, hybrid car, solar battery, recycling system, etc. but I think it is not enough. If everybody thinks about environment problem, we will produce much better products.

In conclusion, there are a lot of things which we can do for the environment of the earth. Each person should consider these problems and think about what that can do for the earth. If we don't do this, this problem won't be improved and just will become worse. I hope we solve these problems and take back the very beautiful and comfortable environment in the near future.

Reference:

Harris, M.

I hope we solve these problem and make the Earth a very comfortable place for every living thing.

Reference:
Iredale, W. (2005, December 18). Stress gives us various effects. The one is positive, for example, making us more alert, more careful. The other is negative which gives physical indication such as headaches, upset stomach, problems sleeping, etc. Stress can be detrimental. Many people can try to reduce stress by drinking or smoking, however, this behavior is bad for our health by contraries.

Stress is one of the most serious problems in Japan. Actually, there are some dead because of stress. Almost all Japanese businessman often work from early morning to late evening. We can say hard work like this can be a heavy stressor. Many kind of events will cause stress, for example, disasters such as hurricanes or tornadoes, big events in our life such as divorce or the loss of a job and daily hassles. Furthermore Seyle, a Canadian physiologist, said that human and animals react to stressors. Finally, he said an organism has many sorts of reaction of stress. Thus, humans have many ways to overcome or resist stress. Animals have similar reaction, also.

Reference: Seal, B. (1998). Academic Encounters: Human Behavior. DNA is an essential molecule which is part og every cell in our body such as skin, saliva, semen, blood or hair, etc. DNA testing helps accuratelu convict or exonerate. I heard that there wew a lot or suspects who received a wrong decion in the world, so DNA ersting is very important to solve many crimes. I hope that a wrong decision and crimes will be lost.

I asked some questions to three Americans. First is “What do you think about DNA testing?” and they said, “It is very practical to solve some crime. It is terrible that DNA testing can specify a person from one hair.” Second is “What do you know about DNA testing?” and they said, “I don’t know too much well. But I know that DNA testing can help them get much information from small things such as hair.” Third is “Do you know some crimes which were solved thanks to DNA testing? If you know some cases, please tell me.” and they said, “I don’t know in detail but there are many crimes which were solved by DNA testing.” Finally I asked that “I learned that the death penalty increase the murder rate. Do you know the reason?” and one guy said, “I don’t want to receive a punishment, so I think that, on the contrary, crimes decrease.” and the others said, “I think that there is a person enjoying thrill in a criminal. Also, someone wants to die but he isn’t brave enough to die by himself, so he tries to use the death penalty. ” I had an opinion of the former but I understand this fact thanks to them. There are many reasons that didn’t occur to me like they said. However, I don’t know the relation between the death penalty and the murder rate exactly. I hope someone will clarify this relation and carry out the best measures as soon as possible.

PAPARAZZI

I examined "PAPARAZZI" and went to the website, "Gawker-New York City website about paparazzi," so I want to tell you about "PAPARAZZI."

The website has 5 articles, "Paparazzo and Moral Arbiter," "Gossip Roundup: Mary-Kate Will Kick Your Ass," "Have You No Sense of Decency, Paparazzi?" "Gossip Roundup: Paparazzi, Car Crash, Yadda," and "People Stalkerazzi Not as Smart as Your Average." The author discussed paparazzi's acts, mind, role, effect or how to take picture of celebrities in the articles. For example, in the case of Ron Galella, one of the paparazzi, he goes to one celeb's house and knocks the door. Then she opens the door and he takes some pictures of the inside of her house. Next he goes to her neighbor's house and shoots from neighbor's garden to take her private pictures like wearing sexy clothes or no clothes. He thinks this act is right even though we think his behavior doesn't have common sense.

I think paparazzi's behavior goes to excess. Certainly I often imagine the noble or gorgeous life of celebrities and we would like to know about their private lives. But famous pepole have privacy like us also. And sometimes the act of paparazzi will be the cause of the celeb's death or will imply things that aren't true, for example, Princess Diana's death. Her car was chased by some paparazzi when the car caused the accident. In this case, we can say the paparazzi's behavior is the biggest reason of this accident. Thus the paparazzi's behavior has caused some tragedy. I hope paparazzi do the action with common sense and such a tragedy or false implication is lost.

My Favorite Music

I’ll talk about my favorite music, YUZU’s song.

YUZU is one of the most popular bands in Japan. YUZU consists of two Japanese guys. The one is Yujin Kitagawa, and the other is Koji Iwasawa. They often play guitar with beautiful and harmonious song but sometimes they cooperate with the pianist and the orchestra. I have many favorite songs in their song but especially I like "EIKOUNOKAKEHASHI (栄光の架橋)." This meaning is "The Bridge of Glory." I often listen to this song because this song's lyrics are very nice!! This song always encourages me. This is the best song in the world for me. This song was even chosen as a theme song of Olympics in Japan, and the year Japanese athletes could get a lot of medals. I think this song is one of the reasons why the athletes were able to get many medals.

In the end, I recommend you listen to YUZU's song even though you can't understand Japanese. YUZU will surely make you happy or give courage!! But if you want courage more from YUZU, you should study Japanese.

My Favorite Media

There are a lot of media in our world, for example, TV, the Internet, radio, newspaper, etc. Above all I often use the Internet and TV to get some information, so I would like to explain the reason why I have chosen them. The one reason is that the Internet has a lot of information, for example, news, sports, weather reports, especially the things which are happening now. I can find the important information for me, not only American events but also Japanese ones, so I often go to the site of "The Asahi Shinbun(朝日新聞)" or "The New York Times". The Internet tells me almost every things. This is the biggest reason. But I also use TV programs although I can get information which I need using the Internet because I’m Japanese and I came here, America, to study at the university in America, so I have to study English. TV is one of the greatest teachers for me to improve my English skill. Therefore the Internet and TV are my favorite media.

Halloween Itself

I learned some things about Halloween, so I want to tell you about them. Halloween is celebrated here in the U.S.A with a variety of activities on October 30. It is traditionally observed by children who dress up in costumes and go door to door saying "Trick or Treat" so that the residents will give them candy. The original idea is this:Ancient Celtics believed that the evil spirit and the witch appeared on October 30, the day before of All Saints' Day (Hallowmas). The Celtics made Halloween to repulse the evil spirit and the witch. And the culture has spread to the West. The custom of Halloween was brought to the U.S.A in the 1840's by Irish immigrants. The purpose of wearing the costume which is symbol of scary things, is to drive away the evil spirits, who see the appearance and are surprised.

I interviewed some Americans and learned many things from it. First, Americans usually buy a few bags or candy treats such as small chocolate bars etc. and pass these out on the designated "trick or treat" night in their town. Unfortunately, the woman I talked to also eats quite a few of these herself. Second, many college students will decorate their dorm rooms like a Haunted Houses with pumpkins, lights and many symbols of scary things. Traditionally chidlren of high school age and below go to those places to be scared or be brave, depending on your perspective. Many houses and dorms will have costume parties also. Finally, about two years ago, there was violence in Carbondale Halloween. Students got into trouble over the Halloween weekend on the "strip" or on north 51 that goes by KAYA and the other bars and restaurants. There were incidents of fights and an attempt to block the street for outdoor party, for example, overturned cars and broken windows etc. These incidents were made by heavy drinking crowds.

My Favorite Band

My favorite band is YUZU. They are very nice guys, so I want to tell you about "YUZU". YUZU consists of two Japanese guys. They are very popular in Japan. One is Yujin Kitagawa, whose part is vocal(low), acoustic guitar, harmonica and tambourine, and the other is Koji Iwasawa, whose part is vocal(high), acoustic guitar, harmonica and harp. They can play guitar with beautiful harmonic song, and also the lyrics of their songs are great! Their songs always encourage me and make us happy, so I like them and play their song on the guitar if I have free time. I think everyone likes their songs. Their song was even chosen as the theme song of the Olympics. In the end, I recommend that you listen to YUZU's song even though you can't understand Japanese. YUZU will surely make you happy!!
This is YUZU's homepage.
http://www.senha.jp/yuzu/
http://www.senha.co.jp/yuzu_new/new_new/full_main.html

My Father

My favorite relative is my father, Hiroshi. He is a very important person for me because he tells me that many things that are necessary to live, what I don’t know, etc. He is very busy because he is a doctor, a surgeon. He has to go to his hospital from early morning to midnight. Then, he workes hard and is very tired. Everyday he saves his patients, so I look up to him. Also what makes such him happy and blissful are a car, baseball and music. If he has free time, he enjoys driving his sports car and watching the Seattle Mariners baseball games, Ichiro, listening to music, for example, the Beatles, classic music, like Ludwig van Beethoven’s songs, etc. with his very expensive audio equipment. Next, I'll tell you about his personality. He is very strict. When he is angry with me or my sister, he is disapproving and enraged, but this is not usual. Usually he is a very kind and good person. Finally, this is his appearance. He has short hair, is of medium height, has a clean-shaven chin, square face and wears glasses. He is in 40’s and often wears a white coat. In conclusion, this is my father. I like him.
